Fall is going and so is SQL

Wow another semester over and Databases and SQL coming out of my ears. Well I will have to admit that when I started this semester I was really intimidated by the thought of learning SQL and learning how to manage a DB. Now I really had several problem with Java as the instructor was not very good not did he cut you any slack. If your work wasn't right wouldn't take points off he would just give you a zero and go on. Now I thought that was really unfair so I was really skeptical. At first I really didn't understand. I looked at assignment 5.3 and I was baffled. So I took an extra week and got 5.3 and 6.3 done and really didn't have a problem. I just took some extra time to study the language and worked it out. Now that makes me feel good to be able to work something like that out on my own.

Managing a DB on the other hand was totally different. I would say that I had experience with certain DB's namely SIMS-E which is how the army tracks its vehicles. I just didn't really understand how it all went together. We learned how to develop a DB and then make improvements. We learned how all of the parts interacted with each other through ER diagrams and that really made sense on what a company would do as we did our group work. It just goes to show that when you simulate real life scenarios in your groups that everyone benefits. Now on to IT accounting.... I wish everyone good luck.
