Will Apple ever equal Sony????
I just read this crazy article in my information week daily update and it basically asks if Apple will ever equal Sony. I think that this is kind of a iffy topic because the two companies are pretty much complete opposites and they are also somewhat similar. Apple has been smashing the competition with its sales figures lately exceeding in all categories. I think the problem with this article is that they pretty much are smashing the competition as well. I think that they out sell sony in the categories that they compete in, however Sony has the market lead in blu ray, stereos, and TV's. Apple does not have the blu ray technology and I think they will continue to fall short in their pursuit of sony and other electronics companies until they get this technology. Now as far as cell phones, tablets, and computers Apple can't be touched.

Mac viruses now a foot????
I read an interesting article in today's Information Week daily update. It claims that the recent attacks on the MAC framework mean that the glory days of these computers not getting attacked or the software being unhackable are over. I know many hackers have probably tried unsuccessfully to attack MAC, but this may be where the world changes and they actually have to secure their computers. When I bought my first MAC when I got back from Iraq this time I was told that I did not need a virus scanner on board because MAC's never get attacked. I knew that this was too good to be true so I was able to download MacAffee for free through the army. I do the normal updates and virus scans and have not had any problems as of yet. I just wonder where these people would get a crazy idea like their MAC can't get a virus so you don't need any virus scanning software. That is just crazy to me.

The NFL on technology.....
In my Information Week daily update yesterday, I read an interesting article on the NFL and technology. They state that technology in the game has come along way in the last several decades in the game. I totally agree with them on this and it shows now. Years ago in order to communicate with the quarter back you would have to use hand signals. In the mid 70 and early 80's wireless radios were used in the quarterbacks helmet in order to communicate with the quarterback and this was a big step in technology for the teams. Now with todays technology Blue tooth technology has stepped in and the wireless communication between the sidelines and offensive and defensive players is even better. Things have come a long way since the days of hand signals.

Obama Care and IT
I was reading my daily update from Information week when I about fell out of my chair. They are reporting that IT will suffer is Obama Care is repealed because online prescriptions will slow down. I don't think that this is really the case because people have been ordering prescriptions over the phone and online for years before this law went into effect. I don't think it will make any difference if you are on government insurance or have your own. People will keep doing the same thing they have been doing to get their scripts all along not just because a law changes. IT has nothing to worry about with this issue. Personally I think Information Week needs to find more creative things to report on.
