Wow, we have been really busy over the past eight weeks and I have really learned a lot. Juggling the army and being in the field for 29 days has proved difficult, but I am happy that I made it through. E-commerce is a great thing to study especially if you want to move up in the IT field or any industry. We have learned how to set up a website and of course the right and wrong way to make money. We were given the chance to write a paper for a recommendation on how to improve a website. I feel that my paper will be used in real life; because it has given me a chance to look into and actually study security measures for new online business owners. This will especially benefit me because I know now what measures need to be in place if I plan to dabble in e-commerce.
Project management on the other hand has been a totally different ball game. I know from the past few weeks especially. It seems like I have been pulled in a millions directions and that is exactly what project managers go through. They have to keep the project scope intact as well as balance the budget and keep the project on schedule. They may also struggle with being technical themselves and that could be a conflict with the team in the fact that the manager may try to over step his/her bounds. It is important for a project manager to be able to multitask and still be able to get the job done. I get a lot of this in the army and it will pay off to have this experience and know what to look for.
